Playback of interlaced video on a progressive-scan screen or a screen with a high frames-per-second (FPS) rate may result in unpleasant artifacts like a "comb." Generally, these artifacts are most noticeable on the edges of fast moving objects.
Special deinterlace processing is required to suppress comb artifacts.
We offer a high-quality deinterlace solution. In addition to software implementation, the algorithm’s reference C code is also ready for hardware implementation.
Primary Applications
Flat-panel plasma displays
100 Hz progressive-scan television
LCD displays
Playback of interlaced video on progressive-scan displays
Digital video cameras
Video conversion and transcoding
Key Features
High visual quality for low-angle edges and static areas
Preserves scan rate (double rate) (e.g., converts 59.94 fields-per-second video to 59.94 frames-per-second video)
Fully automatic
Suitable for hardware implementation
Basic Deliverables
Source code for a reference implementation in C
C and assembly language source code for an implementation optimized for the PC (if required)
